Role length: Anticipated 3 months
Working arrangements: 3 days surveying and 2 days at home
The role:
We are looking for a RICS or Associated RICS Surveyor to work on the Right to Buy Applications on behalf of the council.
You must have experience of the right to buy application process and property valuation experience also.
Key responsibilities:
Implement and assist with the development of all procedures relating to the processing of applications for Right to Buy applications as required by the Housing Act 1985 (as amended)
Responsibility for preparing all aspects of work applicable to the sale of Council houses including, registration of Right to Buy applications, checking them for completeness, accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation for manager authorisation
Responsible for the collection of financial and performance information and provision of reports, relating to Right to Buy activity, for the Home Ownership Team leader, Finance Team and Strategic Housing Manager. This information will be retrieved from the various data bases in use within the Service
To occasionally visit customers in their homes in order to verify customer information and validate that properties qualify for purchase under the scheme
To provide professional support to the Property Partners in the delivery of property related solutions to requirements identified in Asset Management Plans
To advise services on property related issues and to negotiate legal agreements for the use of land and property with third parties as required
What the client is looking for:
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
RICS or Associated RICS Surveyor
Experience of right to buy applications
Experience of property valuation
Knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation
Excellent customer service and communication skills
