Newlyn School is seeking a warm, positive, and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our dedicated early years team. We are looking for someone with a calm and nurturing disposition, paired with an aspirational mindset and a deep commitment to child development through the EYFS curriculum. Someone with a commitment and desire to grow professionally is desirable, always seeking new and innovative teaching strategies to inspire our young learners.
The successful candidate will be a flexible and collaborative leader, working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider school staff to ensure that our youngest learners are at the heart of everything we do. You will champion high-quality early years education, fostering a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can flourish emotionally, socially, and academically.
Key Qualities and Responsibilities:
• A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and how to deliver a rich, play-based curriculum that supports holistic development in Nursery and Pre-School settings, as well as into the foundation stage. Teaching experience or accreditation is desirable but not essential.
• Proven experience in teaching, leading and supporting early years practitioners, with a commitment to professional growth and reflective practice is desirable.
• A nurturing approach to behaviour and wellbeing, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and staff
• Confidence in identifying and supporting children with additional needs, adapting provision to meet individual learning styles and developmental stages
• A proactive attitude towards safeguarding, health & safety, and inclusive practice
• A passion for outdoor learning, with enthusiasm for Forest School, Beach School, and creative enrichment opportunities
