About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Officer to ensure our hard FM (Facilities Management) and other contract arrangements for high schools – including our NPDO (Non‑Profit Distributing Organisation) contract – are delivered to the highest standards.
You’ll be the custodian of compliance and performance monitoring, making sure service providers meet contractual obligations, statutory requirements, and best practice standards. Your role will be critical in creating safe, compliant, and inspiring learning environments for pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Oversight – Monitor, audit, and report on Hard FM service delivery, including planned and reactive maintenance, statutory inspections, and lifecycle works.
Performance Management – Track KPIs, SLAs, and other performance measures, ensuring issues are identified, addressed, and documented.
Compliance Assurance – Verify contractors adhere to all relevant legislation, including health and safety, building regulations, and safeguarding requirements.
Stakeholder Liaison – Act as the main point of contact between schools, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
Risk & Issue Management – Identify, log, and manage risks, escalating as required.
Continuous Improvement – Work with contractors to improve service quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
About You
Educated to HND level in Building Surveying, Facilities Management, Contract Management or equivalent related subject.
Strong understanding of Hard FM services, statutory compliance, and contract management.
Proven experience in monitoring and managing service providers.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
Confident in interpreting and applying contractual terms.
Highly organised, analytical, and proactive in resolving issues.
Desirable:
• Experience with NPDO or PFI‑style contracts.
• Knowledge of the education sector’s compliance requirements.
