Summary
About the Role:
We're a leading bathroom product company, and we're currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Yard Shunter to support our night shift logistics operations during a peak trading period.
This is a temporary position with potential long-term opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate HGV vehicles within the yard safely and efficiently
- Collect trucks, empty returned pallets, and position trailers on loading bays as instructed
- Assist in securing loads safely and in line with company procedures
- Perform walk around vehicle checks and report (or remedy) minor defects such as bulbs (preferable)
- Maintain the upkeep of the external pallet storage area using an FLT
- Communicate clearly with night shift management to coordinate vehicle movement and respond to operational needs
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence and up-to-date CPC & Tacho card
- Fluency in English (essential for health & safety and clear communication)
- Competent FLT operator (in-house or accredited licence preferred)
- Strong understanding of yard safety and logistics coordination
- Proactive and reliable, with good attention to detail
