About this opportunity

We're on an exciting journey and there couldn't be a better time to join us. We've put in place a fresh operating model for Non-Financial risk management across the Group, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for handling the risks that they face.

In second line we created teams of risk specialists within 'Customer & Product' to support and challenge the Group in how it handles its conduct risks so that we deliver great customer outcomes.

This Senior Manager will bring strong technical expertise in financial promotions and the broader regulatory communications environment that a modern, digitally enabled business like Lloyds Banking Group must navigate. They will be an innovative problem solver with a future-focused mindset-someone who not only shapes how compliance and business practices evolve to stay relevant but also sets the standard and brings a wide group of collaborators, serving diverse customer needs, on the journey. Strong policy writing and engagement skills will be a distinct advantage.

The perfect candidate will have second-line experience in both Financial Promotions and CMA, however, that perfect candidate may not exist so if you have strong second-line compliance or legal experience in communications risks, Financial Promotions or CMA compliance then we would love to hear from you. Don't discount yourself.

Key accountabilities:

  • Evidence of being a strong technical expert in relation to Customer Communications , Financial Promotions, marketing and communication risks and regulations, including the practical application of these regulations in a digital and agile environment

  • Evidence of being a technical expert of Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) rules and guidance, specifically consumer protections including interpretation and traceability, regulatory engagement, and delivery of compliance advice for existing orders

  • Monitor industry, consumer, and market trends to inform the development, maintenance, and embedding of policies and risk appetite. Interpret new and existing regulations accurately and adeptly, highlighting the direction of travel and anticipating the impact of the proposed changes across the whole Group.

  • Act as one of the Group's specialist Conduct & Compliance Risk senior managers and represent the organisation, building strong relationships with external partners, in particular with regulators and other governing bodies.

  • Ensure risks are measured, monitored, controlled, and reported on a timely basis and consistently across the Group, and provide independent challenge to risk decisions, as they relate to the specialism

  • Responsible for maintaining the balance between risk-taking and risk mitigation, defining and developing a clear and comprehensive risk appetite that outlines risk tolerances and risk limits supported by exceptional story telling

  • Support the definition and development of appropriate control objectives for Conduct & Compliance Risks. Ensure that the Group's business processes, systems and activities are conducted in a controlled and compliant manner

  • Provide support to risk and control owners to report incidents, exceptions, or non-compliance with control objectives. Take corrective action and implement changes when control objectives are not being met or when existing risks change and/or new risks emerge.
