Summary

Job Title: Planned Works Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing
Location: Covering Leighton Buzzard
Salary: Up to £60,000
Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in planned works and social housing?
We're working with a leading housing provider to recruit a commercially astute and driven Planned Works Quantity Surveyor to join their growing property services team, covering the Leighton Buzzard area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the commercial aspects of planned maintenance and refurbishment projects within a social housing setting.

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender documentation, and contract valuations for planned works including roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, and external upgrades.

  • Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial performance aligns with contractual obligations.

  • Liaise with contractors, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting and timely completion of works.

  • Carry out cost/value reconciliation and financial reporting.

  • Conduct valuations and process contractor payments.

  • Support procurement strategies and contribute to value engineering across projects.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the social housing sector - planned maintenance experience is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of SOR codes and cost control within housing projects.

  • Experience working with JCT and NEC contracts.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and travel within the Leighton Buzzard area.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

  • Full UK driving licence.
