1.2 Learning Support Assistant
(1:1 Teaching Assistant)
Temporary for three terms
Part Time 12.5 hours per week term time

SCP Range: 2 to 4Employment Start Date: As soon as possible
We are looking to employ an enthusiastic, caring, patient person to work as a 1:1 support TA for 12.5 hours per week with a child in our Nursery with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work under the direction of our ALNCO and the class teacher.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience of being a teaching assistant within a primary setting
• Have worked 1:1 with children with specific learning, physical and social needs.
• Be a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Have high expectations of pupil behaviour.
• Contribute to the ethos of a friendly, happy school, in which the personal development and well-being of the children is given the highest priority
The appointment is to support a child with additional needs. If the child you support leaves, your contract will be terminated, subject to normal contractual periods of notice. You may be required to work with other named pupils as identified by service needs.

As this post will result in you having substantial contact with children, and/or vulnerable adults the successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Services check. With effect from 1 April 2016 it is a legal requirement for some categories of support staff to be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales.
