You'll be part of a team that believes in second chances and fresh starts, and the power of human connection. You'll help young people build confidence, independence and a future they can be proud of. If you're ready to be the person who helps someone else believe in themselves, this if your moment.
In this role, you'll: Provide 1:1 and group support to young people with complex learning differences, disabilities and social, emotional or mental health needs Help learners build essential life skills, from budgeting and cooking to navigating public transport and preparing for employment Support students in achieving their RARPA targets and qualifications, working closely with teaching staff to tailor learning plans Be a trusted adult, a steady presence and a role model for resilience, independence and self-belief Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, completing reports, risk assessments and contributing to programme development
To apply, you will need: A recognised qualification in youth work, mentoring or guidance (or a proven record of this line of work) Experience supporting young people with a range of difficulties and disabilities, including autism, mental health challenges and behavioural needs A calm, empathetic and creative approach to problem-solving Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently (you will often be lone working) A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (sometimes you'll be going the extra mile - literally!) (mileage is paid through expenses)
Benefits: 5.5 weeks holiday included in salary, 21.7% College pension contribution to LGPS, health care cash plan, free car parking, discounted Hair & Beauty, on-site gym, staff development & training, Pluxee Retail Discount Scheme, and more!
