Working hours: 35 hours per weekInterview Date: 16 September 2025Salary: £23,987.42-£25,097.61 per annum (Dependent on experience)An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced Charity Shop Manager to oversee our two charity shops: one shop located in Worthing and the other in nearby Lancing. Both shops serve their local community, providing decent, quality goods at reasonable prices and supporting the wider mission of The Salvation Army in the Worthing area.Key Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of the operational activities of the shopsEnsure the effective pricing of stockEnsure the attractive visual presentation of the shopsEnsure that the shops are stocked with sellable items to deliver continuous sales revenuesLead and role model excellent customer service to deliver sales and missional objectivesLead and manage a team of volunteers and employed van drivers/shop assistants, leading on volunteer recruitment for the shopsPromote an understanding of our mission to customers, employees/volunteers and other relevant local agenciesManage the shops costs within the agreed operational budgetThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:Good experience of working successfully in a similar job roleStrong demonstrable customer services skillsProven experience of improving operational activities to enhance the delivery of relevant objectivesDemonstrable ability to record and monitor financial data and deliver standard reports as requiredGood, demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks effectively meet objectives and time scales with minimal supervisionIn order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment subject to satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK.For details of how to prove your right to work in the UK please click here and please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship.
