Summary
We are delighted to be supporting a specialist rail and infrastructure contractor in their search for an Ecologist to join their expanding environmental team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability across a range of high-profile rail and infrastructure projects.
As an Ecologist, you will:
* Carry out ecological surveys, assessments, and reporting to support rail and infrastructure projects.
* Provide technical advice on ecological and environmental issues to project teams.
* Assist with the preparation of ecological method statements, mitigation plans, and licence applications.
* Ensure works are delivered in compliance with environmental legislation and best practice.
* Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.
* Contribute to biodiversity and sustainability initiatives within the business.
We're looking for someone who has:
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
* Experience working as an Ecologist within consultancy, contracting, or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of ecological survey techniques, legislation, and mitigation measures.
* Protected species survey licences (advantageous but not essential).
* Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
* Flexibility to travel and work across sites as required.
