Summary

Hours:
19 per week worked Mon – Fri opportunity for additional hours

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

There will be an initial trial period of three months and can be extended up to a maximum of 6 months to allow both parties to consider if the working relationship has been positive and if we wish to have a more permanent arrangement.

RATE OF PAY £13.60 per hour paid 4 weekly in arrears.

PVG SCHEME MEMBERSHIP

The employer will pay for a PVG scheme membership at a cost of £59. Should you leave your post before giving 1 year of service this fee will be deducted from your final salary.

Please Note: It is illegal to undertake regulated work if you are barred from doing so as defined in the PVG (Scotland) Act 2007.

PURPOSE OF JOB

As my PA your job will be to provide the personal, domestic and recreational assistance I require to enable me to live my life in the way I choose. As my Personal Assistant you must be able to respect my privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.


Personal Tasks:

The job involves all of the following, but, not to the exclusion of tasks and assistance that may develop during the period of employment.

• Assist me to wash and shower;
• Assist me with dressing and undressing as required;
• Assist with any other tasks involved in helping me deal with health and hygiene.

Domestic Tasks:

• Making and changing my bed;
• General cleaning e.g. Dusting, vacuuming etc;


Other Tasks:

• Supporting me to leisure or other activities.
• Push my wheelchair when going out
• Any other reasonable duties.

You may be required to undertake appropriate training to enable you to carry out your tasks effectively. This training may include:

Other training needs identified throughout the duration of your employment will be considered and actioned, as and when appropriate.






CODE OF CONDUCT

My personal assistant should provide the help I need at my request. Personal Assistants should only provide the assistance I really need by listening to my requests and instructions on how to do tasks. Getting the right assistance at the time I need it will allow me to lead my life independently.
