Your New Role
As a Regulatory Services Officer, you'lltake the lead on complex regulatory functions including inspections,investigations, enforcement actions, and project coordination. You'll act as aspecialist in designated areas, supervise colleagues, and contribute tocorporate initiatives. The role involves out-of-hours work, including eveningsand weekends, and requires you to represent the council in formal hearings andlegal proceedings. You'll also help shape policy frameworks and provide expertadvice to businesses, residents, and internal teams.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- A professional qualification in a relevant Regulatory Services discipline.
- Membership or affiliation with a recognised professional body and evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory legislation, investigation procedures, and policy frameworks.
- Experience in complex criminal investigations, project leadership, and staff supervision.
- Confidence in enforcement actions, including issuing notices and attending court hearings.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach to work.
- The ability to travel within the borough and work flexible hours.
An Enhanced DBS check is required for thisposition.
