Summary

The Payments & Income Supervisor will be responsible for Managing the delivery of administrative, technical and business processes supporting a comprehensive range of finance activities, including finance administration, cash & information management, debt and payments administration through the effective supervisory support of a team of staff to ensure all aspects of the service are delivered in accordance with agreed standards, objectives and statutory requirements.

Respond to routine & complex enquiries, using discretion & judgment in forming responses so that advice on the area of work is consistently given in accordance with agreed policies and defined procedures to internal and external customers

Prepare statistical and financial information from systems, collate and present information for use by senior staff for operational/budget management and policy development purposes.

Monitor the operation of processes to contribute to the development of the Service and the introduction of best practice and new ways of working to ensure positive, accurate and timely information is delivered in the most effective way to meet service objectives and ensure KPI targets are met.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payment and Income Supervisor to join our fast paced, well-established Payment & Income team at Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The P & I Supervisor will report into the P and I team Leader and work alongside a team of Assistants & Administrators within Transactional Services. This is a key role assisting with Income administration for all services, schools, and Council Businesses, including managing, investigating and reconciling financial transactions, assisting with & responding to queries.

If you have experience working in a finance environment, show a clear commitment to team working and a collaborative approach, can demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and can adapt to changing business needs, then we would love to hear from you. Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential.
