Summary
Based at our Teynham site, we are looking to recruit harvest workers to join our team on a full-time, temporary basis, starting immediately.
You will work as part of a small, close knit team, working to harvest our high quality crops of apples.
Responsibilities include:
Picking apples gently from trees by hand and placing them into a bucket that you wear in front of you on your shoulders (approx. 12kg)
Carefully emptying each filled bucket into apple bins in the orchard
Working 8-10 hours each day for 6 days a week
Ensuring your work area is clean and tidy
Establishing good and safe working practices
Providing a high level of care and attention to detail in picking and loading apples
Combining speed with careful attention to reach productivity and quality targets
Living on site with your team members
Pay:
The rate for the role is NMW plus potential bonuses for piecework, quality, productivity and completion of harvest
Holiday pay
Skills and Experience:
It is an essential requirement that you are resident in the UK or have an existing right to work in the UK, with pre-settled or settled status.
Minimum age 16+
No previous experience required, full training will be provided
Must be physically fit and able to carry a bucket on your shoulders weighing approx. 12kg for extended periods of time
Attention to detail in picking apples carefully to ensure the highest quality standards
Able to work as part of a small, close knit team to bring in a successful harvest
