Summary
We have a vacancy for the role of Wastewater Treatment Operator based at Meadowhead WwTW.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimising the treatment processes associated with an automated WwTW.
Working as part of a small and dedicated team you will monitor and control the wastewater treatment process in order to meet the required environmental and business targets. You will also carry out initial investigation and rectification works, implement safe bypass / shut down of plant in advance of repairs by the maintenance team in line with current Health and Safety Legislation.
A qualification in an engineering, science or process discipline is desirable. It is essential that you have a positive attitude, flexible approach and a willingness to learn new skills. Experience in wastewater treatment processes is desirable.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
• Live within easy travelling distance of Meadowhead WwTW
• Work outdoors, work in a physically demanding environment and work with untreated wastewater and sludges
• Have good IT skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Have a full driving licence
• Participate in out of hours call out when required
• If required work at other AESOps sites
Normal hours of work are 08:00-16:30 Monday to Thursday & 08:00 – 15:30 Friday based on a 39 hour week. However, this may vary from time to time dependent on the needs of the business.
