Summary
Duty Manager
Overview
We are looking for a Duty Manager to work Wednesday to Sunday, within our Bar and Cafe. The shifts will be predominately day shifts with flexibility to cover evening shifts for sickness and holiday cover, or as the business requires. The Duty Manager covers operations, compliance, staff leadership, and customer experience every shift.
As such the Duty Manager this position requires stamina, strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team while fostering a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of The Wine Bar whilst liaising with the Cafe manager at Cafe@19
Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding guest services, promoting a culture of excellence.
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
Collaborate with various departments including the cafe and the kitchen to ensure seamless service delivery.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
Assist in training new staff members on company policies, procedures, and customer service expectations.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, complaints, and service issues for further analysis and improvement.
Skills
Proven experience in supervising teams within the hospitality or hotel industry.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on motivating and developing staff.
Excellent guest service skills with a commitment to enhancing the customer experience.
Knowledge of human resources practices related to recruitment, training, and performance management is advantageous.
Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively while maintaining professionalism.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing operations efficiently.
Experience of cash handling & reconciliation, (managing tills and banking procedures)
Knowledge of Wine and beverages (Storage, serving temperatures, wine parings, mixing cocktails)
Knowledge of Cellar and stock management (correct keg and cask handling, correct storage, (temperature, humidity) rotation (FIFO)
Physical stamina required for lifting, bending and standing for periods of time whilst following health and safety guide lines (MHOR)
