Summary

Job Summary

This temporary post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours.

Work Pattern - 17.5 hours Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 12.00 noon

Working in Boclair Academy, Bearsden you will provide reception duties and clerical support for the school during term-time.

You will be based in the school reception and will undertake various clerical tasks as required by the School Support Manager including maintenance of all school records using SEEMIS Click & Go, word processing, telephone, mail etc. You will also deal with visitor, staff and pupil enquiries while contributing to the provision of a caring and supportive environment for the whole school community.

You must have experience of working within a busy reception or office environment and possess excellent customer service skills. You must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be literate and numerate with excellent IT skills.

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
