About the @one Alliance

The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of nine partner companies (Anglian Water, SWECO, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, and Skanska) and an extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

We are driving change, empowering us to set global benchmarks and build a better environment, with the opportunity to offer enhanced growth and development to our workforce. We’re looking to build on our existing teams with an environment built for career progression.

With such an exciting portfolio of projects planned for AMP8 to keep the water flowing across the region, our ability to manage our work and outperform against our customer’s expectations will come under greater scrutiny.

We need aspiring driven talent to help us achieve our ambitious targets, are you ready to join us as we prepare to deliver the most creative and innovative AMP we have ever seen?

What you’ll be doing as our Enabling Lead

As an Enabling Lead, you’ll take the lead in identifying, assessing and managing environmental and consenting risks across a diverse range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.

Working from early feasibility through to construction completion, you’ll ensure that all necessary consents, permits and licences are in place – enabling smooth project progression and embedding a “Right First Time” approach. By integrating environmental and planning considerations from the outset, you’ll help reduce risk, minimise delays, and safeguard both project delivery and Anglian Water’s reputation for responsible development.

You’ll work closely with design, engineering, and construction teams as well as regulators, land agents, local authorities and environmental specialists. This is a highly collaborative role that combines technical expertise, risk management and stakeholder engagement to deliver lasting positive outcomes.

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with both the technical know-how and the ability to influence and build strong relationships. You’ll have:

A degree (BSc or MSc) in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Science or similar (minimum 2:1).
Experience using GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) to analyse and visualise environmental data.
Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear advice.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to engage colleagues, stakeholders, and regulators.
A collaborative, proactive mindset – confident working across teams to design out risk and find solutions.
Experience in environmental permitting, risk assessments, and coordinating surveys would be an advantage.

Our vision and values:
At the @one Alliance, we’re not just building infrastructure—we’re shaping a better future. We’re united by a shared vision to deliver climate-resilient, sustainable water solutions that serve communities for generations to come.

Our values guide everything we do:
Build trust
Do the right thing
Always explore

Ready to design the future of water?
Join us and be part of one of the UK’s most forward-thinking infrastructure programmes.
Apply today and help us deliver smarter, greener, and more sustainable outcomes.
