Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Graduate QS

Our client is a Liverpool-based main contractor specialising in small building works and maintenance projects, typically ranging from £30K to £500K. Operating across both repeat business and competitive tenders, their client base includes NHS Trusts, schools, and local authorities. With a reputation for reliable, high-quality delivery, they're now looking to support the growth of their commercial team.

The Role:

They're offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate QS or Assistant QS who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll be involved in the full commercial life cycle of multiple small works projects, from pricing and tendering to applications and final accounts. This is a varied and hands-on role, split between the office and live sites, reporting directly into the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in pricing building and maintenance works (typically £30K-£500K).

Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.

Support the preparation of tender submissions for new projects.

Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.

Undertake regular site visits to monitor progress and variations.

Liaise with clients including NHS, schools, and local authorities.

Track project costs and assist in budget control.

Report project performance to the Commercial Director.

Requirements:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar construction-related field.

1-3 years' experience in a QS or Assistant QS role (preferred but not essential).

Strong interest in small works, reactive maintenance, and public sector projects.

Willingness to work across both office and site environments.

Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Full UK Driving License.
