Summary
Charlotte Straker House is a respected and well-established residential care home in the heart of Corbridge, known for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our team. In this important role, you’ll help ensure our home remains clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.
As a Domestic Assistant, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home. You’ll play a key role in creating a pleasant and hygienic environment that supports the health and comfort of our residents.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Cleaning residents’ rooms, communal areas, and bathrooms to a high standard
• Supporting infection prevention procedures
• Handling laundry duties, including washing, drying, and ironing
• Using cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH guidelines
• Reporting any maintenance or cleanliness concerns promptly
No formal qualifications are needed, but previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role (especially in a care or healthcare setting) would be an advantage. We're looking for someone who is:
• Reliable and takes pride in their work
• Friendly, respectful, and able to work around residents with sensitivity
• Organised, efficient, and pays close attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
