Summary
carry out a full range of duties as an Educational Psychologist (EP) in Leicester City. 90% To contribute to the achievement of service aims, objectives and standards including: a) To provide consultation, assessment and advice for children and young people (0-25) who live in and/or who are in care to Leicester City and their parents and carers in collaboration with education staff and other professionals and agencies working with children and young people. In particular, children and young people who have complex special educational needs and/or disability or at risk of mental health difficulties and/or at risk of social and educational exclusion. b) To assess and advise on the psychological and special educational needs of children and young people and appropriate interventions in response to referrals and other requests in a manner consistent with professional codes of conduct and within the overall policies of the service and LA. In particular, the provision of statutory psychological advice under the Children and Families Act (2014). c) To undertake development work (including relevant research) to improve the work of service d) To contribute to service quality and effective professional practice To undertake consultation, training and development work in relation to a range of schools and settings in order to assist in improving general and specific aspects of educational performance. To undertake consultation, training and development work to support the LA in its strategic aims and priorities in partnership with other relevant LA partners. To be proactive in the implementation of the City Councils safeguarding, equal opportunities; health and safety, data protection and environment protection policies and procedures To maintain registration with the Health and Professions Council (HCPC)
