ellenor is seeking a dedicated, caring and experienced Housekeeping Assistant to join the hospice. You will be part of a housekeeping team, operating 365 days per year delivering a high quality service to our patients, staff and visitors. Our housekeeping team plays a vital role in creating a warm, dignified atmosphere for patients and their families. Every detail matters, including the cleanliness and comfort of our spaces.
As a housekeeper, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across patient rooms, communal areas, and clinical spaces. You’ll work closely with our care team to ensure high standards of hygiene and infection control, while respecting the privacy and emotional needs of those we serve.
We are looking for an applicant with the passion and drive to deliver a housekeeping service of the very highest standards. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work alone but also as part of a busy team.
This is a weekday role with the possibility of having to work at weekends depending on operational needs, therefore you must be flexible.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
• Replenish supplies and ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained.
• Work respectfully around patients and their families, showing empathy and discretion.
Essential requirements:
• Proven experience in housekeeping or working in a housekeeping environment.
• Kind, respectful, and sensitive in your approach to others.
• Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work within hospice values and policies, including infection control and health and safety.
What we offer:
• A supportive, friendly working environment.
• Training and development opportunities.
