About us

The Creative Communities team has three main core areas of work; • Community Led Local Development • Managing External Funds • Managing Internal Funds We focus on supporting communities and organisations in their aspirations and encouraging them to be ambitious and empowered, whilst supporting the ambition of the Council. The team is one of the Regeneration teams within the Place Directorate, the Regeneration departments focus ranges from Economic Regeneration, building on assets, growth and employment, to Social and Cultural Regeneration, focussing on wellbeing, arts and culture and community life, to Environmental Regeneration including management of green spaces, habitats and land renewal. Additionally, this role will be overseen by our Strategy and Partnership team working on behalf of public sector partners as part of the Public Service Board (PSB) to deliver commitments in the PSB Well-being Plan to understand and respond to the needs in our most deprived communities. About the role

Pay Details: Grade 9 Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 Hours per week based on Flexible Working pattern Main Place of Work: Barry/Home Working Temporary Contract To promote, deliver and facilitate economic, environmental and social regeneration of the Vale of Glamorgan Focussing on asset-based community development, supporting communities in their aspirations, encouraging them to be ambitious and empowered, whilst supporting the ambition of the Council and its partners. This role is focused on a fundamentally new approach to addressing the inequities in outcomes for those living in areas of the Vale of Glamorgan that have been identified through WIMD 2019 as the most deprived areas of the Vale of Glamorgan. This work aligns with and will take forward a number of the key priorities that have been identified by PSB partners through the PSB Well-being Plan. This role will include working with public sector partners e.g. the Police and the University Health Board to understand what changes can be made to address inequalities within our communities.

About you

We are looking for a conscientious and confident communicator, with facilitation experience and the ability to nurture and encourage participation to co produce solutions. You must have considerable experience of working as part of a multi-agency approach to deliver regeneration objectives with a proven track record of successfully achieving targets. You will need to be methodical, self-motivated and have high standards of personal and public integrity. You must have the ability to organise personal workload effectively, to meet deadlines, and to work well under pressure, while maintaining high standards of quality. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills.
