Summary

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join the lunchtime team in our friendly school. This is a dual-role position, and the successful candidate will have two distinct part-time roles within our school, as follows:
(1) Mid-day Supervisor – Monday to Thursday, 11.50am to 1.15pm – the role involves supervising children in the dining room, ensuring a safe environment and also to supervise the children when playing inside or outside promoting positive play.

(2) Catering Assistant – Friday, 11.30am to 1.30pm - to work within our long established Café Vale catering team consisting of a part time Catering Manager and two part time catering assistants. Around 120 meals are served each day by the catering service and you will assist in the kitchen and dining room as required in the production of meals, food service, dish and utensil washing, general cleaning, setting up the dining hall and any other tasks associated with catering.
You will need to be able to work to a high standard with a positive attitude, be approachable, enthusiastic, flexible and committed to providing a quality service.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential elements of both roles.
We can offer you an incredibly supportive staff and school community who want the best for the children of Arno Vale, as well as excellent CPD opportunities. We actively encourage you to contact the school prior to applying to arrange a visit or have a discussion with a member of the SLT.

Arno Vale Junior School is situated in Woodthorpe, a pleasant residential area on the northern outskirts of Nottingham. The school is an exciting place to work. We are culturally diverse and have a well-deserved reputation for the inclusion of vulnerable pupils. Parents take a close and supportive interest in their children’s education. Arno Vale is proud of its extra-curricular activities, its academic achievement, and its reputation as an inclusive and caring school. This was confirmed in May 2024 when Ofsted found that ‘Pupils are kind, polite, and respectful’ and ‘the school is ambitious for all pupils to achieve well’ resulting in an overall judgement of ‘Good’. We can offer you well-behaved and motivated pupils, CPD opportunities and a highly committed staff who have a variety of skills and interests.
