Summary

We are advertising for the role of Divisional Operational Director for Family Care. The Divisional Operational Director is a key member of the leadership team for each Division. Working with the Divisional Clinical Director and wider divisional leadership team, you will have shared accountability for the leadership, management, and continuous improvement of the Division. This will include accountability for high quality patient care and safety, the delivery of agreed performance and financial objectives, and ensuring that the Division aligns, and positively contributes, to the Trusts strategic aims and objectives. There are four Clinical Divisions in the Trust, Medicine and Emergency Care, Surgery, Family Care, and Diagnostics, Clinical Support and Cancer (DCSC). The Family Care Division has a budget of approximately £42.4m and approximately 700 colleagues. The Division is made up of 3 Care Units; Maternity & Gynaecology, Child Health and CAMHS, which deliver a variety of high-quality, high-demand services to the population of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire. Accountable to the Chief Operating Officer, the Divisional Operational Director will managerially lead the Divisional Clinical Director and wider Divisional Leadership Team, and Service Managers in delivering this purpose. The post holder will also have a joint line management arrangement with HR and Clinical Governance colleagues who provide shared support services to the DCSC Division. A key dimension will be to support the Divisional Clinical Director and wider clinical leadership team in engaging the clinical and administrative teams in the complex management agenda including preparation for the annual operational planning round and the development of capacity and capability to deliver both local and national priorities. The Divisional Operational Director is also a key member of the Trusts Leadership Team and will be required to lead on Trust Wide programmes of work, as well as deputising and representing the Chief Operating Officer at meetings internally and externally to the Trust.
