Our client is seeking a professional and client-focused Legal Secretary / Assistant to join their busy Residential Property team. Key Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary / Assistant:
· Prepare correspondence and legal documents using audio typing, word processing, or digital dictation.
· Administer filing systems, including opening, closing, storing, and retrieving client files.
· Attend to clients in person and by telephone in a professional and friendly manner.
· Make appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain an up-to-date diary for fee earners.
· Prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch and manage copying tasks.
· Ensure confidentiality of all practice and client documentation.
· Liaise with the Accounts Department for credit control and billing.
· Promote the firm's services, image, and community standing.
· Support colleagues and guide junior or temporary secretaries as needed.
· Undertake training and professional development as required.
Key Requirements of the Legal Secretary / Assistant:
· Minimum 1 year of legal experience in a comparable role.
· Strong organisational and time management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Ability to work independently and use initiative.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proactive in seeking feedback and identifying improvements.
