Summary

Kingham Hill School, now part of the Dean Close Foundation, is proud of its thriving and vibrant Music Department. We are seeking an inspiring and talented Visiting Music Teacher of Organ and Piano to join our team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop the musical journey of our pupils, encouraging a lifelong love of music and performance.

The Role

As a Visiting Music Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition in both organ and piano, from beginner level through to Grade 8.
  • Inspire and motivate pupils of all ages and abilities, supporting them to achieve their best.
  • Prepare pupils for exams, concerts, and recitals, while fostering a love for performance.
  • Contribute to the wider musical life of the School, including ensembles, rehearsals, and productions.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, communication, and record-keeping.

What You’ll Need

We are looking for a teacher who is:

  • An accomplished musician, proficient in both piano and organ, with proven teaching experience up to Grade 8.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to inspire confidence and creativity in young musicians.
  • Organised, flexible, and proactive, with excellent communication skills.
  • Supportive of the Dean Close Foundation’s values of love, courage, and contribution, and committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

A relevant music degree or diploma is essential, while QTS or other teaching qualifications and significant performance experience are desirable.
