Summary

We are a family run £50m T/O Utility, Groundworks and Construction Company, based in the West Midlands with a national coverage. The Company continues to grow and diversify its portfolio of services and, to support this growth, we are looking for determined, resilient and ambitious individuals to join our in-house Utility Design Team.

Job descriptions:

We have immediate vacancies for individuals qualified and experienced in the role of:

• Senior Utility Designer
• Utility Designer (Multi Utilities).
• Utility Designer (Electricity)
• Utility Designer (Gas)
• Utility Designer (Water)

These are very exciting roles that work with our Senior Management Team and our Operations Division. These roles therefore gives the right individuals the long term opportunity to grow with our business and, establish themselves as a leading authority in Utility Design.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You should be able to work to a high standard, work unsupervised and, work proactively and professionally with other Department Heads.

You should be able to create detailed CAD designs for the respective utility, along with developing comprehensive Bills of Material and specifications for standard designs and contracts.

You should be able to support problem-solving initiatives related to design aspects during the pre-construction phase of each scheme and, be a clear communicator in all correspondence.

You should possess the ability to support the seamless transition from pre-construction to construction, along with the continued design support through the execution of each scheme.

You should be an innovative thinker with the ability to support the tendering team and, continually assist in proactively enhancing our competitive edge.

Qualifications / Key Skills:

• Qualifications to satisfy Lloyds NERS/WIRS/GIRS Design Competency requirements.
• Minimum 2-years previous experience in a utility Design role.
• AutoCad experience (all Roles)
• GasWorks experience (Gas Design Role)
• VisNet experience (Electric Design Role)
• Epanet experience (Water Design Role)
• Microsoft Office Suite (all Roles)

• Ability to use your own initiative, be self-motivated and, a proactive individual who values the organisational culture, along with supporting all Employees Mental Health & Wellbeing at all times.
• Good time management skills, good communication skills and, the ability to work alone and as part of a larger team.
