Summary

The role

Working as part of the Sport Business and Administration Team, you will oversee and contribute to a team of sport administrators to ensure Sport Hallam delivers an excellent customer/user experience to all its stakeholders.

You’ll work right across the Sport Hallam Team as well as the wider university to support and promote a range of programmes, bookings, processes, and sport participation initiatives.

It is essential that you have good customer service skills as the role is dealing with customer queries in person, over the phone and via email.

You'll need to have excellent communication skills and be confident working with a wide variety of people and platforms.

You will be expected to deliver a high-quality administrative service whilst also receiving and responding to customer enquiries, so it is important that you can organise and prioritise your workload, using your initiative.

Strong IT skills and attention to detail are essential as the role requires use of a range of operating systems to facilitate bookings and enquiries, plus the administration of finances including sales, purchasing, and invoicing.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday but the department operates Monday to Sunday therefore willingness and flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings to support university open days and events is required.

The department

The Sport Service sits within Student Success as part of Student Futures and Support Directorate, responsible for operating four sport facilities including: Sheffield Hallam Sports Park, Sheffield Hallam City Athletics Stadium, City Gym and Pearson Gym as well as a wide range of sport and physical activity programmes and services for our students, staff and local community.

With a team of approximately 40 contracted members of staff with a further support team of 60+ you will become part of a workforce passionate about transforming lives through sport and physical activity.
