Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a valued member of our team, within Wallace High School’s Ochil House, working as a Support for Learning Assistant. We have four posts available.
There are three temporary positions for 29.5 hours and one 24 hour position, with the contract continuing until June 2026.
The working day for the 29.5 hour posts will be Monday to Friday - Monday and Tuesday 8.50 a.m. to 3.50 p.m. and then Wednesday to Friday 8.50 a.m. until 2.50 p.m., with a thirty minute break each day.
You will be fully involved in the life and work of this happy and busy additional support needs provision, providing an invaluable contribution in the care and wide ranging education of young people with severe and complex additional support needs.
Applications are welcomed from enthusiastic and committed individuals with good experience of working with children and young people, ideally including those with additional support needs. Your background may be from early years, primary or secondary settings or you may have other relevant experience. You will work within an enthusiastic and hard-working team to support young people with learning opportunities that are part of a high quality, person-centred education.
You will be a reliable, patient and innovative individual, who will be an effective team member. In addition, you will have good communication and organisational skills, a positive and solution focused attitude, and show a commitment to ongoing professional development. Significant training will be provided to ensure that the successful candidate can effectively and confidently support the severe and complex additional support needs of our young people, this will include training on key medical interventions from NHS colleagues.
