Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 dynamic and motivated people to join theOphthalmology team on a part time basisat St Helier Hospital in a Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator role.

The post holder will be IT literate and play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient pathway administration for patients during their journey through the service. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, proactive and well organised with a strong sense of patient/customer care. The ability to multitask, work in a team and work under pressure in a busy office environment is essential.

Candidates should have good knowledge and understanding of patient access targets and ideally have prior experience working in an administrative role.

Based within the Ophthalmology POD at St Helier Hospital, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to the patient's pathway of care; tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and /or discharge.

The post holder will be working with their team to organise appointments, diagnostic tests and surgery/ treatment dates for patients referred to Ophthalmology, working closely with clinicians and multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will also book emergency surgery for patients attending our acute eye service. This role includes monitoring the outpatient waiting list to ensure patients. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential in this role as well as and a strong eye for detail.
