Then you might be just who we’re looking for!About the RoleHMP Grampian Prison Visitor Support ServiceVisiting Support Services are often the first point of contact for families and loved ones visiting someone in prison. It’s a space where people arrive with nerves, questions, emotions and our team is there to greet them with a smile, a cuppa, and a calm, friendly presence.You’ll be supporting visitors before and after their visit, answering questions, offering reassurance, signposting to further support, and helping create a safe, welcoming environment.This is a flexible, people-focused role that might suit you if you’re looking to:Work around other life commitmentsBreak up your day with meaningful, short shiftsBe part of a supportive team without needing to commit to full-time hoursWe’re not necessarily recruiting for one full-time person, instead, we’re building a pool of brilliant people who can cover visiting times throughout the week. Shifts are available across 7 days, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.If you’re someone who thrives on variety, enjoys being around people, and can be available for shorter shifts across different times of day, we’d love to hear from you.What You'll Be DoingGreeting visitors and helping them feel welcome and informedChatting with children and families, helping ease anxieties about the visitSignposting people to local and national support servicesWorking closely with prison staff and other partnersHandling sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalismWho We're Looking ForYou don’t need to have worked in a prison before, we’ll provide training.
