Summary

Two positions have become available for support worker roles to join our Team supporting individuals on a 1:1 basis at Bassetlaw Day Services, Albion Close, Worksop, Notts, S80 1RA
These vacancies are open for both male and female applicants and are working hours will range between 16 hours per week. This will be discussed at the interview stage.
Successful applicants are subject to DBS checks followed by an Induction to the company. You will also be required to carry out Mandatory Online Training. This will be followed by Shadowing shifts paid at the hourly rate where you will work alongside one of our staff members at the centre.

Experience in social care is preferred but full training will be given to an applicant who shows potential during the interview process.

Vacancies are permanent contracts to work days between the hours of 09:00-16:00 These shifts are Mon-Fri only. Shift patterns may vary slightly dependant on the client being supported during your shift.
Your duties will include supporting your client to engage in the centres many activities. Activities include playing games, use of the sensory room, musical activities, drama, arts and crafts, playing pool, supporting a service user to the local allotment and many more. Activities may be 1:1 or group activities. Our aim is for our Service Users to engage in the community, make friends and feel they are valued as a person. You will be required to assist with feeding if a client is unable to perform this task for themselves and some service users may need assistance with toileting or personal care. This is done with the assistance of another staff member.
Currently, our clients all fall into the 18+ age bracket who are predominantly non- verbal and/or physical/learning disabilities. Each client will have their own method of communicating with their worker which will be fully explained and shown to you during your shadowing shifts.
New members of staff will receive full training relevant to their role and will shadow our workers with each client until they are confident in supporting them on a 1:1 basis. Further relevant online training is provided by Careskills Academy which is paid at your hourly pay rate.
Upon completing your 6 month probationary period, you will also have the opportunity to achieve a Diploma in Health & Social Care (Levels 2-4)
