Summary

Manager Health & Social Care - Regulated Service
Location: Glasgow, the role will be based in and work across the Queen Elizabeth and Glasgow Royal Infirmary hospitals
Salary: £31,797 per annum
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (30th September 2026)
Travel: Full UK Driving Licence Essential and Access to a Vehicle (Business Mileage reimbursed)
SSSC Registration: Registered with SSSC or meet the requirements for registration essential

For over 75 years, the British Red Cross has supported the NHS and provided a lifeline for vulnerable individuals and supported people in crisis following an emergency. If you are organised and motivated then this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Health and Care team as a Service Manager. You will manage health and care services, ensuring all appropriate standards and requirements are met and service contracts maintained.

Registered with SSSC or meet the requirements for registration essential

Possibility of secondment for internal applicants.

What does a day in the life of a Service Manager involve?
Ensuring services are developed and implemented within the framework of national guidelines and to national expectations but flexed to meet local needs.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of legislative frameworks in relation to social care, health and social care standards, care inspectorate and SSSC.
Ensuring the area is working within Corporate Plan; service standards are achieved and maintained.
Supporting developments and contracts.
Quality and performance management.
Line management of staff.
What does it take to be a successful Service Manager?
Management experience and excellent organisational skills with an ability for prioritising your own & other people’s workload against competing deadlines?
Experience of working in a health or social care setting or voluntary organisation and delivering high quality services to people in need.
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365; Outlook, word processing, presentation and spread sheet packages.
Ability to prepare, manage and monitor budgets.
