Summary
A friendly, quiet man with down syndrome is looking for someone to join a team of Personal Assistant to support with a variety of tasks throughout the day and overnight.
The role will include personal care tasks as well as some daily light housekeeping tasks.
I use a bi-pap ventilator at night as I suffer from a rare condition called Ondine’s Curse. Overnight support will include ensuring that the ventilator and mask are properly placed and effective. Experience with this type of equipment is beneficial but not essential.
We are looking for a Personal Assistant who is caring, friendly and approachable with a good sense of humour. They must be reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
The Post
The rate of pay is £113 overnight allowance (10pm-7am) and £12.60 per hour worked before 10pm and after 7am.
During college term weekdays the shifts will be 8pm – 9am. During college holidays and occasional weekends additional hours would be required and arranged in advance by agreement.
Holiday cover for other PAs will also be required which would involve additional full night shifts arranged in advance.
