Summary
Working hours: 40 hours per week (on a rota)Interview Date: To be confirmed James Lee House is a Lifehouse (supported housing) designated to support up to 54 adults (18 years and over) who are experiencing homelessness and the difficulties and complexities with this.We are looking to recruit a Support Worker who is motivated, experienced, and empathetic to assist with the delivery of high-quality support programmes promoting client choice and control, to ensure a positive and sustainable move to future accommodation.Ideally, candidates will be required to have an understanding of trauma-informed care, Homelessness, Addictions, and the associated complexities.Key Responsibilities:Understand and work within the Mission and Values of The Salvation Army.Support the Spiritual Programme running within the service where required.Respect the diversity of other people’s culture, faith and practice.Promote client choice by working as part of the Support Team to deliver a range of in-house support provisions which clients can opt into, and which are designed to achieve successful housing-related support outcomes.Work in line with all relevant legislation and guidelines to protect clients, colleagues, staff and visitors from any abuse, accident, or injury.Maintaining and developing day-to-day office duties and providing administrative support.The Support Worker will complete any other duties as could be reasonably expected of someone in the fulfilment of this role.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: excellent customer service skillsability to prioritise their own workload via good time management good IT Literacygood written and verbal communication skills motivation and Commitment in carrying out the role flexibility and ability to work shifts, unsociable hours, weekend/bank holiday workknowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clientsability to work within the Christian Ethos of The Salvation Army and The Salvation Army values including Respect and CompassionIn order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK, and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with Barred list check of the Adult workforce.
