Summary

The Finance Team provides financial support to the University encompassing the budgeting, monitoring and reporting of all financial information alongside the transactional services of payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting and Operations and overseeing operational activities, we are looking for a candidate who is qualified/part qualified or studying with experience in credit control, maintaining systems, financial operations, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and mentoring teams, overseeing accounts receivable/payable and the ability to implement process enhancements to drive operational efficiency. Project coordination and being able to view processes and understand how tools can be utilised for data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of VAT regulations, strong excel skills and attention to detail are vital, as are customer service skills.

Experience with further or higher education financial processes is desirable, but a strong work ethic and the ability to understand people and financial processes is more important than sector experience. We are looking for a candidate with a proven ability to build productive relationships at all levels as the role involves providing advice, guidance and support on all financial accounting matters both within and outside the Finance Department as well as liaising with external stakeholders on financial reporting matters.

Previous experience of accounting software packages and strong Microsoft Excel skills are a requirement of the post holder.
