Summary


We are seeking a highly motivated Health Care Assistant with enthusiasm to develop knowledge and experience of patients within our team. On our unit we offer support, both physically and mentally to all our patients throughout their journey with us , the setting can sometimes be very challenging but is very rewarding.

The Pioneer ward is a fast paced working environment which gives staff the opportunity to use multiple transferable skills to provide the highest level of care to our patients. The post will offer lots of additional training and personal and professional support will be provided throughout. If you have a interest and experience of working within surgery then this exciting new opportunity to work on our friendly and dynamic unit is for you!

As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum sponsorship threshold, and therefore not eligible for sponsorship. OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

You will support the nursing staff and provide excellent patient care whilst maintaining the trust values at every opportunity. Some of your duties will include
• Support preparing and escorting patients to theatre, including management of busy admission corridor.
• Timely clinical interventions: venepuncture, collecting blood products, gathering equipment for nursing interventions, physiological observations
• Prepare and transfer patients for discharge destinations
• Prepare clinical area for new patients and support admissions.
• Assist and support trained staff on the ward with post-operative care.
• Support bed moves within the clinical area, including using Patient Centre and other relevant clinical programmes
• Educate new staff on ward processes
• Actively support mandatory training; undertaking train the trainer
• Support the ward with maintaining patient safety.
• Support individualised patient care; reviewing quality.
