Are you a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) interested in joining SLT Services at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in the vibrant city of Cambridge?

We are delighted to be in a position to appoint a full time Band 7 Advanced Specialist SLTs to join our well established and highly regarded Adult Acute Service. The post will contribute to the provision of highly specialist services across the full range of acute specialties, including instrumental swallowing assessment and diagnosis.

Experience of service development, developing and delivering training, student supervision and close MDT working is required. Sound clinical skills and extensive experience, including highly specialist dysphagia skills and complex caseload management in the acute setting are also essential.

To fulfil the Band 7 role in the acute setting at Addenbrooke's, competence in instrumental dysphagia assessment and / or tracheostomy management is essential.

Training and development needs will be identified and supported alongside an agreed personal development plan.

To contribute to the provision of specialist SLT services within the SLT Adult Acute Service. To provide highly specialist clinical input to a defined caseload including patients with complex disorders, prioritising needs and managing workload independently. To lead on the development of services within the area of specialism and to act as a resource for other therapists in the area of expertise. To provide cover for the Senior Specialist in service and team coordination, operational management and representation at relevant forums as required.

With the support of the Team Lead and in close collaboration with SLT and the multi-disciplinary teams across the acute Wards, you will provide a highly specialist service to patients referred. This will include maximising the communication and swallowing potential of patients and supporting safe discharge.
