Summary
ite Manager
Grade 6 (pt 15–18): £32,061–£34,434
37 hours per week | Full year (52 weeks)
Do you take pride in your surroundings and enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, and keeping things running smoothly? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a reliable, proactive Site Manager to join our team and help support the children and staff at Braunstone. With over 400 people on site each day, we need someone who can stay one step ahead and keep everything ticking over.
Your Role
This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of the care, maintenance, and presentation of the school site. You’ll:
Be a visible presence, spotting issues early and resolving them quickly to keep the site safe, functional, and looking its best.
Work indoors and outdoors—handling repairs, maintenance, groundskeeping, basic decorating, and responding to emergencies.
Carry out tasks in-house where possible to reduce contractor costs, while making the most of local authority support and building strong relationships.
Lead on health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring, and risk assessments.
Work closely with the Business Manager to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.
Act as a key holder, ensuring the school is opened and closed on time each day, with support from your team to keep the site secure and running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring:
Experience in a trade such as carpentry, plumbing, or general building maintenance—either from a facilities role or trade background.
A proactive, flexible mindset and the ability to think creatively to find cost-effective solutions.
Confidence in working independently and making decisions.
A strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
A commitment to creating a safe, welcoming environment for children and staff.
What We Can Offer You
A flexible and supportive workplace where your wellbeing and professional growth matter.
25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years), with flexibility to take time off during term time or school holidays—whenever suits you and the school.
A paid wellbeing day each year to support your health and happiness.
A genuinely great place to work, with colleagues who are passionate about providing excellence and opportunities for every child.
Wonderful children who’ll brighten your day—even the tough ones—and truly value what you do.
A trusting and supportive leadership team who’ll give you the autonomy to lead, make decisions, and truly make the role—and the site—your own.
Interested? Come and Meet Us!
This vacancy is open for an immediate start, but what matters most is finding the right person. If you're interested, we warmly invite you to visit the school, meet our Business Manager, and see the site for yourself.
We’ll review applications as they come in and may close the advert early if the right candidate is found—so don’t wait too long to get in touch!
To arrange a visit or ask questions, please contact Alison Simpson, Business Manager.
Safeguarding Statement
We are committed to keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse and to promoting their welfare. Everyone who works with us shares this commitment.
This post involves contact with vulnerable groups and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. It is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Shortlisted applicants must declare all criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, and bind-overs—both spent and unspent—before interview.
In line with KCSIE, we may carry out online searches on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence. These searches will only examine publicly available information and are intended to help identify any concerns that may need to be discussed at interview.
Having a criminal record is not an automatic bar to employment. Any concerns will be considered carefully and discussed with you during the recruitment process.
