Summary
We are seeking a thorough and skilled Vehicle Paint Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, protective coatings, vinyl stickers and wraps to the bodywork of our taxi vehicles, ensuring a high-quality finish that maintains the fleet’s professional appearance and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking and applying primers or fillers to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish.
Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve the correct colour and consistency according to specifications or standards.
Apply paint, vinyl stickers, wraps and other protective or decorative materials using spray guns, brushes or other appropriate methods.
Inspect painted surfaces for quality, correcting any imperfections such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage.
Maintain and clean painting equipment, work areas and adhere to health and safety regulations.
Communicate with body repairers and other workshop team members to ensure seamless completion of vehicle refurbishment and maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience as a vehicle paint technician or in a similar automotive refinishing role.
Knowledge of paint mixing, colour matching and surface preparation techniques.
Skilled in using spray guns, masking tools, sanders and other paint application equipment.
Attention to detail with a strong commitment to achieving a flawless finish.
Understanding of health and safety associated with paintwork and chemical use.
Good manual agility and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time role based in the company’s vehicle workshop.
Hands-on, practical work environment involving chemicals and paint materials.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols is required.
