£28,598 – £31,022

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract – 18 months

About the role

In 2026 Rugby Borough Council will be introducing a new weekly kerbside collection service for food waste, giving us the opportunity to make a step change in the quantity and quality of household recycling.

You will work with communities around the borough to explain and promote the new service and give feedback to our communications and waste teams, helping our residents to understand what can be recycled and how to recycle.

Your input will help our communications and waste teams finalise the food waste collection service and give it the best chance of success.

This is an 18 month Fixed Term Contract role.

About you

You’ll have a background in communications or community engagement working with residents and community groups from a variety of backgrounds, including hard to reach communities, with a friendly, engaging and helpful demeanour that allows you to quickly develop relationships.

You will need to be able to attend events around the borough of Rugby, sometimes at weekends or in the evening.
