The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Procurement Administrator
A high proportion of the role will be providing support to the Category Buyers on procurement activities. Offering guidance and support to customers enquiring about our solutions including issuing guidance documents, providing administration support, supporting the development of marketing collateral and helping with a wide range of day to day tasks
The role will also include some data input and management using a variety of in-house systems and also excel so we require someone with strong numeracy skills with the ability to process data. Basic research and collection of data skills are essential, ideally with some experience in procurement
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake all tactical process & administrative activity to support the HR Services team as required
Support all operational requirements, such as (not exhaustive), supplier performance data capture, collation of customer and supplier data, system housekeeping, administration
Supplier management and management information collection and review including financial and KPI management
Deal with internal and external customers and suppliers as required
What the client is looking for
Previous experience in providing administrative and operational support within a procurement or purchasing environment, ideally supporting category buyers or procurement officers
Previous experience in data entry, management, and analysis using in-house systems and Excel, with excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
Experience in collecting, reviewing, and maintaining supplier performance information, KPIs, and financial data
Basic research and collection of data skills essential
Strong administrative background with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and support day-to-day operational requirements efficiently
Confident in dealing with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance, resolving queries, and maintaining positive working relationships with suppliers and customers
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare guidance documents, marketing collateral, and professional correspondence
Ability to use initiative to support procurement activities, troubleshoot issues, and suggest improvements in processes
Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and procurement/ERP systems.
