Right now, we're looking for a Senior Operations Manager- Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CIAG) Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for our prison-based careers and employability services across London and the East of England.If you're an inspiring and experienced leader with a passion for transforming lives and ensuring excellence in delivery, this could be the role for you.
*This role requires rigorous vetting, including an enhanced DBS check, Counter-Terrorism Check (CTC) vetting and prison security clearance.Candidates must also have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role involves travel across multiple prison sites.
Your impact:
As Head of Operations, you will oversee the delivery of Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CIAG) services across multiple prison clusters.Leading a team of six Cluster Managers, you'll ensure high-quality, compliant, and impactful delivery that meets contractual requirements and supports rehabilitation and employment outcomes.

Strategic Leadership: Shape and implement CIAG delivery models, aligning national priorities with local impact.

Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop six Cluster Managers, fostering a high-performance culture.

Performance Oversight: Monitor outcomes and KPIs, driving improvements through data and insights.

Quality & Compliance: Ensure safeguarding, prison regulations, and Ofsted/contractual standards are consistently met.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with prison governors, HMPPS, MOJ, and partner agencies.

Service Innovation: Champion continuous improvement and pilot innovative approaches to enhance outcomes.

Resource & Budget Management: Oversee staffing structures and budgets to maximise efficiency and impact.

Safeguarding Leadership: Act as the regional safeguardinglead, ensuring policies and procedures are fully implemented.

Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead multi-site teams within careers guidance, offender rehabilitation, employability, or related services.

IAG Expertise: Level 4 IAG qualification or higher (or equivalent).

Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and prison security regulations.

Operational Excellence: Evidence of delivering results against KPIs and contractual obligations.

Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building collaborative relationships with justice partners and internal teams.

Quality Assurance: Experience preparing for audits, Ofsted inspections, and driving continuous improvement.

Budget Management: Competence in managing budgets and resource allocation.

Digital Proficiency: Confident in using IT systems and reporting tools.
