Equans is looking for a Site Manager to join our team in Tuxford Academy, Markham Rd, Newark-on-Trent, NG22 0JH on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,000.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Times;
Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.30pm.
What will you deliver?
- To be responsible for the day to day running and security of site.
- Ensure all safeguarding requirements are met, including all relevant training.
- To lead a team of multi-skilled caretakers to provide an exceptional service to all project stakeholders.
- To provide an effective, efficient reactive and planned maintenance service for the school. To uphold required standards outlined in the PFI Performance Management document.
- To manage Equans staff, along with all Contractors /Sub Contractors on site ensuring all Health and Safety /Equans procedures and policies are upheld.
- To ensure all site records are kept up to-date including PPMs, Work Orders, Site Log Books, Visitor/ Induction records.
- To ensure all Work Orders are closed off / updated correctly in relation to their sites.
- Undertaking general caretaking duties, which include but are not limited to porter services (i.e. deliveries, exam set-ups); reactive cleaning (bodily fluid spillages); general maintenance (changing lamps, replacement ceiling tiles); carrying out of Planned Maintenance activities (Legionnaires checks, door condition checks, light switch checks etc) working in all weathers (litter picking, gritting, leaf removal).
- Regular support to the school to enable its ability to deliver the teaching curriculum. As well as communication with school representatives.
- Undertaking and recording statutory and mandatory planned maintenance duties.
- Logging of reactive maintenance tasks on the Helpdesk.
- Proactively carrying out a daily regime of 'find it fix it' or report it to the helpdesk and ensure it is followed up and fixed within our service level agreement.

Who are we looking for?
This role reports directly to the Facilities Manager. General caretaking experience is advantageous, but not essential. However, the individual must:
- Able to promote good customer relationships
- Have safeguarding experience in an education environment
- Have a proven track record of practical maintenance skills
- Have a good understanding of services within a building such as boilers, heating, lighting and water management
- Have good knowledge of Health and Safety
- Have the ability to follow site and company policies and procedures
- Have good communication skills being able to converse with people at all levels;
- Have a sound understanding of services and plant to be maintained within the building
- Live within 30 minutes of site to provide reactive call out cover if required;
- Good IT skills (Desirable);
- Full valid UK Driving Licence
A full enhanced DBS clearance will be required before taking up position.
