An exciting 12-month opportunity has arisen to support a national programme of work to transform pathways for women who use secure services, recognising there are significant differences in the presentation of mental disorder, for women in secure care. You will work closely with varying stakeholders within the region, including the PROSPECT Provider Collaborative.
Post holder will support the provision of psychology services in a specified area, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and under the direction and supervision of a Senior/Principal/Consultant or Lead Psychologist. You will maintain high quality ensuring adherence to national guidelines, legislation, organisational protocols and play a key role in Psychology service development through an evidence-based approach.
As a registered psychologist you will participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and stakeholders as part of the project work. You will review processes, guidelines and standards to help guide service user engagement in their care pathway and will be under the supervision and management of the clinical director. You will support clinical team working, including support for interventions and training programmes. You will be an innovative thinker, developing new initiatives and ways of working, whilst working closely with internal/ external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.

What you will be doing
- To provide knowledge and experience of supporting the provision of psychology services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- To support and advise on psychological assessments of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests
- To support and advise implementation of formulating plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users mental health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the patient’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
- To support and advise on implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models.
- To provide guidance in ensuring Psychology practices in the specified area of service maintains the highest standards of professional practice and ethics, complying with clinical governance standards at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Successful completion of a Doctorate level qualification in applied psychology either through the British Psychological Society or a recognised training body, enabling registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area. This can include learning difficulty, neurodiversity and complex trauma.
- Experience of providing clinical supervision to Assistant and trainee Psychologists, as directed by the Lead Psychologist
- Experience in assessing, formulating and working therapeutically with patients in the service area.

Arbury Court provides medium and low secure care and Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) for women aged 18 years and over with Personality Difficulties and mental illness. Each service within the site has a unique focus, ensuring that the needs of all women can be met. Patients can move through services as their needs change, to focus on the next step in their recovery journey.
The service offers a personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathway for women with complex needs. Using the rehabilitation and recovery treatment approach, we ensure that care is focused on the person.
