Long Term Futures are looking for a proactive and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school in the Wandsworth area. This is a full-time, long-term position, starting in September, with the potential to become permanent.
The school is deeply committed to supporting the holistic well-being of its pupils and provides a nurturing environment for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. In this rewarding role, you will be crucial in helping these children engage with their learning and feel secure in the classroom.
Key responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support, focusing on emotional regulation and behaviour.

Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to implement support plans.

What we're looking for:

Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with pupils who have SEMH challenges.
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with pupils who have SEMH challenges.

An understanding of conditions like ADHD, ASC, anxiety, or attachment difficulties.
An understanding of conditions like ADHD, ASC, anxiety, or attachment difficulties.

The ability to use de-escalation techniques (relevant training is a plus).
The ability to use de-escalation techniques (relevant training is a plus).

A valid enhanced DBS check (or a willingness to obtain one).
