Part-time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
Personal Assistant to support a 34-year-old female living in the Trecynon, Aberdare area. The service user is outgoing and a social person. She is a mother of two cheeky little monsters who are funny and fun loving. Her daughter is 3 – going on 4, and her baby is 5 months old. She is a Vision Impaired person as well as a guide dog user to a wonderful black labrador named Daisy, who is getting on herself at the age of 8. The service user enjoys going out and about, doing new things, going swimming, playing goalball and watching her children go and find their own fun.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I am seeking a second PA due to being awarded additional hours to support in the home and out in the community. The role is to support herself as well as her children.
HOURS OF WORK
10 hours per week
RATES OF PAY
£14.00 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Transportation and assistance to and from hospital appointments for the service user and her children
Support around the home to help with clean and tidy home environment, such as picking up clothes from the floor, informing of any dirty areas that need cleaning etc
Accessing the community to meet new people, to feel part the community such as helping with going to children community events
Assistance to go swimming, a sport which she enjoys but that requires full support due to her limitations
Possibility supporting with getting to places where she can run her dog freely
General sighted support and guiding (you do not need to know how to guide, she will be happy to show how she does this)
Ensure her safety at all times
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Must be comfortable around children and dogs
PA to be a driver/owner with business class insurance (blue badge holder)
Trustworthy and enjoys a laugh
Someone who is sociable and would support with socialising when out and about
Someone who is able to make small talk and honest with visuals – such as if there are marks on her top so she can change
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
