This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an R&D Portfolio Lead. You will play a key role in supporting delivery of the Department's R&D portfolio, ensuring that it is appropriately managed, and that the right data and insights are available to our key customers, including the Chief Scientific Adviser and the Department’s R&D Board. You will be responsible for developing and embedding a robust project and programme management culture to ensure that the department’s R&D activity aligns with our strategic objectives and delivers maximum impact for the UK transport system.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

Lead the oversight of the departmental R&D portfolio, including governance, budget management, and spendEngage with colleagues across the DfT to coordinate, support, and report on the R&D portfolioMonitoring and reporting on impacts from R&D investment in DfTAct as a central point of contact for project work across the Science, Innovation and Technology Team
