Summary

We are looking for a talented Video Editor to join the Prime Minister’s digital team at 10 Downing Street. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of government, producing best-in‑class video content that informs, inspires and connects with millions of people across the UK.

Working closely with our video team, you will edit compelling, creative, and platform specific videos that bring the Prime Minister’s Plan for Change narrative to life. You will thrive in a fast‑paced environment, delivering high‑quality content at pace and to deadline, while providing sound judgement and maintaining professionalism when working alongside senior leaders and stakeholders.

You will play a central role in shaping how we tell policy stories through video. This includes editing social-first videos, generating creative ideas, adopting emerging trends, ensuring accurate subtitles and brand alignment, and managing our video assets so they are organised and accessible. Your work will help ensure our content truly resonates with audiences and consistently “stops the scroll.”

  • Take raw footage from shoots, visits and events and edit it into high-quality, social‑first videos that are tailored for different platforms and audiences.
  • Edit, colour correct and subtitle videos to meet brand, accessibility and technical standards.
  • Prepare videos for fast upload and publication across the Prime Minister’s and No.10 channels.
  • Accurately subtitle content and maintain a high standard of detail and delivery.
  • Manage and maintain video archiving and storage systems to ensure easy access and organisation.
  • Work with videographers and content leads to select the strongest clips for social use.
  • Drive forward new formats and creative approaches to telling the government’s story, including vox pops and real voice content.
  • Be flexible and responsive to changing schedules and last‑minute requests, maintaining composure and accuracy under pressure.
  • Liaise with senior political stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure all content is cleared for publication.
  • Stay up to date with editing best practice, emerging trends and new digital opportunities.
